Rewrite the Play isn’t just another youth sports program — it’s a movement changing how young men see themselves, their future, and the power of discipline.
We combine athletics, mentorship, and real-life education to help athletes build confidence, character, and direction. Our mission is to show every player that their story doesn’t end with their circumstances but begins with how they choose to play the next down.
Founded by Kiara Stroud, a devoted mother and advocate for youth development, Rewrite the Play bridges the gap between home, the classroom, the community, and the field. Through workshops, exposure, and partnerships, we’re building a generation of athletes who lead with purpose — on the field and in life.

Talent alone does not determine outcomes. It is access, guidance, and support that does.

Rewrite the Play creates pathways by connecting athletes to mentors, resources, and real opportunities that extend beyond the game. Through intentional partnerships with families, coaches, and community leaders, we help close gaps in exposure, preparation, and long-term planning.
By surrounding young men with consistent structure and purposeful support, we equip them to navigate life, leadership, and opportunity with clarity and confidence.

We do not just develop players. We build systems that help them thrive.

ACADEMIC GUIDANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY
Athletes receive academic support through GPA monitoring, academic counseling, and educational workshops. This component reinforces eligibility requirements, academic expectations, and the direct relationship between classroom performance and athletic opportunity.
ATHLETIC EXPOSURE & ADVANCEMENT
Structured training sessions, combines, and college tours provide athletes with meaningful exposure opportunities. These experiences are designed to showcase talent, increase visibility to recruiters, and expand access to postsecondary and athletic advancement pathways.
LIFE SKILLS & LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
Participants engage in structured programming that develops essential life and leadership skills, including communication, time management, financial literacy, and responsible digital engagement. This pillar prepares athletes to make informed decisions and lead with professionalism beyond athletics.

MENTORSHIP & WELLNESS
Through access to trusted mentors, licensed professionals, and lived experiences, this pillar creates safe spaces for honest conversations that strengthen emotional resilience, self-discipline, and personal accountability as athletes navigate both athletic and personal challenges.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & LEGACY BUILDING
Signature experiences such as an annual gala, retreats, and partnership forums bring together athletes, families, mentors, and community stakeholders. These events strengthen relationships, reinforce shared responsibility for youth development, and celebrate measurable growth and impact.

Kiara Stroud is a mother, leader, and advocate who turned her personal story into a mission to change the narrative for young athletes and their families.

As a single mom raising a son whose father is incarcerated, Kiara experienced firsthand the challenges that come with balancing guidance, opportunity, and belief. Through those experiences, she learned that the right structure, support, and exposure can completely rewrite a child’s future.

Out of that truth, Rewrite the Play was born — a movement that bridges mentorship, athletics, and accountability to help young men see beyond their circumstances. Kiara’s passion now extends far beyond her own home; she’s building a community that equips athletes, mothers, and mentors to lead with purpose, resilience, and faith.
